The Ministry has, for the first time, won awards in competitions organized by the International Telecommunication Union of the United Nations
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has, for the first time, been honored with awards by winning international competitions organized by the United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The Ministry’s project, “Graduate Employment Ranking,” won first place in the “Electronic Employment” category at the ITU’s “WSIS Prizes 2025” international competition. Competing against nearly 1,000 projects, the Ministry’s technological solution was selected as one of the 18 winners and received the prestigious award.
The “Graduate Employment Ranking” project is a digital platform that publicly provides data on the employment outcomes of university graduates. The initiative aims to strengthen the connection between education and the labour market and supports young people in making informed career choices.
Additionally, the Ministry won the ITU’s “WSIS Photo 2025” competition. A photograph taken by an employee of the DOST Digital Innovations Center, operating under the Ministry, was selected as one of the 10 winners from hundreds of entries. The photo was exhibited at the “WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025,” held during the World Summit on the Information Society from July 7 to 11 in Switzerland.
It is worth noting that the World Summit on the Information Society is a UN platform supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, bringing together multiple stakeholders. The event provides a unique opportunity to identify new trends in the information society, exchange experiences, and showcase best practices.
At the same time, the Ministry’s “Digital Platform for Rehabilitation and Abilitation Services” project was awarded a Nomination Certificate in the “Electronic Health” category. This project facilitates easier and digital access to rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities, contributing to the development of an inclusive social service model.
